Tips on Starting to Use Vibram FiveFingers for Barefoot Running
- Barefoot running means learning to run on the forefoot
- First 2-3 weeks, run at most 10% of your normal running distance
- After 2–3 weeks, increase running distance by 10%–20% every couple of weeks
- Never run 2 days in a row for the first month
- Before and after each run, stretch focusing on calves and feet, because barefoot running stimulates these muscles
- If at any point you start to feel pain during a run, stop! Try again in a couple of days
